Let’s face it, 6 weeks is a long time to have fun. And if you don’t have a plan things can get fractious, expensive, and hard to manage. Plus many of us have to juggle work and other life commitments, as well as keeping kids happy, entertained and off screens. So here’s a few ideas to help you all get the most from the summer holidays – kids AND parents!

Not every day can be a party, but it’s worth having a few events booked in for you all to look forward to. Kids need to realise there’s a balance to life – some boring stuff, and some fun stuff. So here’s a few ideas.

Solihull Sumer Fest, 19 and 20 July, Tudor Grange Park

Enjoy a wide range of music from pop sensation Louise to the king of reggae, Maxi Priest. Or maybe UB40 or Artful Dodger is more up your street. Knowle Food & Music Festival, 26 and 27 July, Knowle Park

Enjoy 2 days of epic tribute bands, local cover bands, and cool DJ sets. The Killaz UK band will play on 26th July, with tribute acts for Bon Jovi and Bruno Mars appearing on the Sunday. The Bee Cart, 9 August, Packwood House

Pif Paf is a wildly ambitions theatre company creating top notch performance and sculpture, taking it to places it doesn’t normally reach. The Bee Cart is an exciting, accessible walkabout theatre piece for audiences of all ages. This mobile world of interaction and surreal, but true information, will explore all things bees and pollination. No booking required, and normal admission applies for non-members.
